P.E.I. Drops Keno Game
Prince Edward Island has finally made a decision on whether or not the island will be keeping the game of keno. The island has decided to drop the game just one month after Nova Scotia decided to discontinue the electronic game.

Prince Edward Island was introduced to the electronic game in the spring of this year and has lost around $60,000 since that time. James Ramsy Prince Edward Islands gambling strategy officer commented: “After consulting with officials from Provincial Treasury and the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, we have requested that Keno be discontinued on Prince Edward Island.”

Ramsy went on to say that the island had lost the ‘critical mass’ when Nova Scotia dropped the game and they had to look at what that decision meant to the island. Nova Scotia dropped the keno game after revenue from the game had dropped 80% below expectations, according to a study.

Both Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia had seen low revenues especially when they were compared to the estimates made when the game was about to be introduced.
