Online Keno Games are Headed to Ohio
The Ohio Lottery Commission has made the decision to allow Keno games to be in bars and restraints. Online Keno will now be appearing every four minutes in Ohio's bars and restraints later this year. The games expected launch will happen sometime this Summer as long as current plans stay on track. The Ohio Lottery Commission approved the rules of the game on Friday with a 5 to 3 vote. Some are concerned that the game might be too similar to casino and slot machine gambling and as a result voters have repeatedly rejected the new game according to Governor, Ted Strickland.
Strickland first introduced the idea of Keno in January as part of his plans to keep the states budget in the black. The online Keno games that are to be placed in bars and restaurants are expected to bring in about $73 million dollars a year. A portion of the revenues from the games are set to go toward education and help defer budget cutbacks.
