Keno Winner Lives Life as Normal After Big Win
Over a week ago a man named Ray, from Pottsville, won a large Keno jackpot at his local club. The jackpot was worth $1.2 million. Ray, a widowed father of two, decided to live life as normally as he could which means that he went back to his job of fourteen years at the NSW tea plantation. Known only as Ray, the winner bought a $100 Keno ticket every week for a period of six weeks. Ray felt as though he would one day hit the jackpot and he certainly did! When he won the $1.2 million jackpot Ray stated that he was ‘shaking like a leaf’ and ‘went white’ trying to comprehend what had happened.
Ray said he asked for some water and then he went outside and poured it on his head. Even though Ray was so excited it was also a sad time as his wife had died of cancer five years ago and he wished he could have shared the moment with her.
Ray also commented that he did not expect his life to change just because he won the large jackpot. Ray commented: “I’m pretty boring really. I like to drink and I’m a bit of a gamble and that’s what I’ll still be doing of a weekend.”
