Keno Winner a Mystery in Gympie
Last Saturday night a lucky person won $25,000 while playing Keno at Billy’s in Gympie. However this lucky person does not know they have won. Conflicting stories have arisen stating the even though no one knows that the person has won it is illegal to announce a winner was found at a certain location, this is according to the people at Jupiters Keno. However government officials state it is ok to announce a winner.

The Jupiters Keno people told the Gympie Times yesterday that reporting on the missing keno ticket is a breach of the binding agreement between the keno provider and the Billy’s hotel where the prize was won. A spokesperson for Jupiters commented that privacy laws are to blame and keno winnings are a secret even if the winner is not identified.

Apparently an exception is made in publicity if winnings were produced in keno in every establishment in Queensland is won, which would most likely never happen. A spokesperson for Tourism and Fair Trading, Minister Peter Lawler commented that this is not correct and publications can announce the winner.

So hopefully people who were playing keno at Billy’s last Saturday night will check their pockets or where ever they may have set a ticket and see if it is the lucky winner. Hopefully the winning ticket has not been thrown away!
