Keno Player Wins $2 Million on Motherís DayThis past motherís day, women around the world were celebrated by their family and children. Loads of flowers, gifts and breakfast in bed were served up to moms but one lucky mom got a gift she most certainly did not expect. A Tennant Creek mother has won $2 million while playing Keno at the Memorial Club in the Northern Territory but her name still remains a mystery.
Tennant Creek is a small town of only 3500 people so when news broke of the win everyone was trying to figure out who it could be. The manager of the Memorial Club, Cynthia Thomas, commented that she could not say who the winner was as she asked to remain anonymous. What we do know is that the woman was playing a $1 game of keno when she earned the big win.
The lucky mom played nine games of keno and she hit the right numbers on the last game of her ticket. The exact amount won was $2,044,407. This is the second largest win in the Northern Territory as the last big winner came in 2006 for $2.1 million.
