The Arkansas Racing Commission has approved Keno and it will be joining other electronic gambling games at the Southland Gaming and Racing in West Memphis. The commission voted today and agreed that the version of Keno that will be installed does include the player to use skill to win.

"Electronic games of skill" are the only ones allowed in Arkansas at race tracks at Southland and Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs. Critics are saying that the games are only a little different from slot machines and don't approve of the plan.

Gaming Laboratories International,also known as GLI, is a consultant to the Racing Commission and it evaluates proposed games to see whether they meet the state test of involving skill. A GLI report that was submitted to the commission verified that the keno game was proper under state law.
