Keno May Be Added To Connecticut
As the economy is still in shambles, many states in the US are trying to find new ways to bring in revenue. One way that has become increasingly popular is gambling. From adding casinos to lottery games, many states are getting in on the action. The state of Connecticut is considering adding Keno to help close a huge deficit in the state.

It is believed that if the electronic game is added to the state, they would stand to earn $20 to $40 million in revenue. The state is currently facing a deficit that could get as high as $8.7 billion in the next two years so the money earned from Keno could help lower the state deficit.

If the game is added to the state it would be located in bars, private clubs, bowling alleys and restaurants. Neighboring states, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, already offer the game, which draws people from Connecticut.

Though many are for the addition, some are opposed. Martin Steinberg, from the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling, is concerned about mixing the gambling game with alcohol. He also is worried about the addictive nature that can be brought on by the game.
