A Nebraska City May Be Changing Ordinances Regarding Keno
Current city ordinances prevent employees and owners of McCook City Keno outlets from playing the keno games. But that all may be changing now. The original fear was that employees, owners, and operators of the keno machines would have an unfair advantage or ability to rig a game in order to achieve results in their favor. But according to Mike Nevrivy, operator and monitor of several Nebraska keno computers, that he does not use outdated machines and the ones that were recently linked to accusations of employees cheating were nothing like the ones that he uses.
“I’m the one who would take the heat for it if someone was found to have played the game to their own advantage,” stated Nevrivy. “If I felt there was any danger (with the equipment) I wouldn’t use it.”
All in all, it was decided by council to allow keno outlet owners and their staff to play the games within the establishment as long as it is after work hours and it must be other times then one hour either before selling or after selling tickets.
This new amendment to the current ordinance would allow more individuals to play and keno the keno game.
The new ordinance will not take effect just yet as there are two additional readings to be had before it can take off and allow more people to participate in the fun of keno in the area.
